The Beginning Of the End : A Look Back

[editor’s note before starting – my blog theme (which I loved but hadn’t updated in years) embedded gambling posts beneath my posts. At first I thought I was hacked but turns out that someone took control of the theme itself and put it there “as a feature”. So, I quickly grabbed a different one just to get rid of the gambling stuff. I’ll try to fix it / find a better one in due course.

I often go backwards in life. Stop me if you have heard this one before (and you have, if you read / read this blog with any regularity in the days when I posted often). I am a nostalgic fool. I look back, rose colored classes (etc. etc.) and while I don’t get stuck there, I get wistful, often. And then I compartmentalize it all away and forget it about it – until the next time.

Encouraged by reading Time to Loot Turns 6 I checked my own blog birthday which was August, 2008. If I had kept blogging well, it would have been something. And then I did something I hadn’t done in forever – I started reading some old posts. Now, I know there are some doozies (I heavily criticized Fortnite during beta for messing with the Battle Royale formula, I was convinced they would fail. Now they build billions off of that decision. Anyway, not to remind you of how wrong I am.. but…) I am going to go back through the years of this blog and run a series where I link the old posts, summarize them (so you don’t have to read them all directly) and add any wisdom / insights / memory I have of where I was when I wrote them in the first place.

So, dear reader (notice I didn’t pluralize reader) I will present to you my QUEST – Quick Updates Exploring Stories Told
